Fashion Show Entry in Progress

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

On March 1, Anna is hosting a fashion show at Zero Station.  She’s still accepting entries if you have something you would like to enter.  Here are the beginnings of my vest, featuring my favorite yarn combination: The Fibre Company Khroma and Rowan Kidsilk Haze.  It will have a low scoop neck with a wide rib in the red, and wide rib around the armholes.

Also, my latest Antrhopologie score.  I have had my eye on this sweater for quite some time.  Yesterday in Boston, I found this one with a button missing, so I was able to get a discount - yeah, justification!

Nicole Gastonguay was featured on the Craft blog this morning for her crochet tv dinner. Look at these sardines she made up. I love the eyes. They’re looking at me!

About a Boy Sweater on Craft Blog

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Craft Magazine wrote about my About a Boy sweater today on their blog.  This has brought another wave of people asking - Where’s the pattern?!  I will try to get it together in the near future.  If you’re interested, let me know, or just keep watching knitbot. Once it’s done I will post it for download.  I plan to have several patterns available for download by spring, including some super cute hats!

Winter 2008 TNNA

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Closely Knit is here!  Well, the advance copies anyway.  It will be available to the public February 20th.  I just got back from California, where we released it at TNNA.  It was amazing, I can’t even begin to tell you all the positive feedback I received.  The best compliment of all came from Erika Knight, who gave the book a little squeeze as she said how much she loved the sentiment behind it.

The lace top from the Sisters chapter appeared in the fashion show on Thursday night.  It was unbelievable to be represented alongside so many other talented designers

Friday morning I spent time in the F & W booth, showing off Closely Knit.  It was great to be able to talk with everyone who stopped by.  It was genuinely well received!

Daphne and Iain’s booth looked fantastic, as usual.  They featured a few of the projects from Closely Knit in their booth - thanks guys!

Saturday we got to spend the day with Narumi Ogawa.  She is the cutest thing ever, and look at what she makes!

Note: I look like a freakish giant next to these two petite girls! Special thanks to my editor, Jessica Gordon, for making it such a fun weekend.

Windy Wednesday

About three weeks ago we moved into a furnished apartment up on Munjoy Hill. We’ve decided to sell our house, and to make the final renovations easier, we are moving out now. Here are some of our views overlooking the Eastern Promenade.

The sky was pretty amazing today.

Nellie just left us after a week long, fun filled visit. Most of the fun revolved around eating. We went to local 188 three times!local188.JPG

I leave E-A-R-L-Y tomorrow morning for TNNA. Did I mention I received the advance copy of Closely Knit in the mail? After spending 24 hours with it, plus sharing it with family and friends, I have decided that I love it. Yeah!
