Yesterday my aunts Sheri and Ann, my Sister Theresa, and I surprised my grandmother with a fancy lunch and I showed her my book for the first time.  It was super special.  She introduced me to crafts at an early age, so I hold her responsible for the craft crazy person I have become.

I also have to show off my sisters super funny  spread: mimosa, coffee, dessert, oh and a two shrimp of course.

I also saw my friend Darlene, who is a huge crafter.  Her positive response meant a lot.

Wow, this is the fun part!

I will be posting the dates of upcoming Closely Knit book signings soon…

One Vest Down, One to Go

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I finished the vest for the Show Us Your Wears fashion show - and only 20 days late! I love it.

As I was rounding the last row of armhole ribbing, I found out that Nashua Yarns accepted my design for a vest out of their Velvet Wool. I just received their box of yarn, with a March 17 deadline.

The fashion show vest was on size 4 needles, so the Velvet Wool is going to fly on size 8’s!

New Studio

Monday, February 4th, 2008

This past weekend we moved (again).  The set up is pretty perfect, so hopefully we can stay here for awhile.  Abe and I both have our own work spaces, which is fabulous after a long year of sharing.

Here is where I will work:

I have to hit the ground running, no time to nest!  I have a deadline this week with Nashua Yarn.  There is another One Skein Wonders book being put together, this one with strictly luxury yarns.  That deadline is next week.  The fashion show deadline has come and gone (oops!) but Anna says I can have an extension.  I have almost finished the back of the vest.

Oh, and I have to come up with a proposal for my follow up to Closely Knit.  Hopefully my new space will be a good idea factory.
