Donovan’s Sweater

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Remember the story of the yarn ball that got away in Ohio? It turned out I really needed that yarn. When I got home, I was working on the sweater I have been making for my friend Jenny’s baby, and I came up one sleeve short. Ahh! And only 4 days before the shower. Anna was all out, so I ordered online, and it arrived in the mail Friday afternoon. Abe delivered it to me at Knitwit, and I went to work.

Saturday morning I put the finishing touches on - just in time! The pattern is from Greetings from Knit Cafe - it was super fun to knit.

TNNA Columbus 2008

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

It was super fun to see everyone at TNNA, as always.

I finally got to meet Stefanie Japel, author of Fitted Knits and the forthcoming Glam Knits.

Here we are with our fabulous editor - Jessica Gordon!

I also got to meet super cute Cosy Cornelius-Bates, who has a book called Knit One, Embellish Too. I mean, come on. Her name is Cosy. So awesome!

I signed books at the Unicorn Booth - there was actually a long line, I couldn’t believe it!

Right after the signing I had to rush to the airport. Jessica was waiting right outside with the car. I reshuffled my bags and got in the car in a rush. As we drove away, I realized that my knitting was shut in the door. I turned around and saw a ball of yarn tumbling down the street behind us. I tried reeling it in - um, that doesn’t work of course! There was a lot of traffic, so I had to just cut it and set if free, like a balloon floating off into the sky. Enjoy, Columbus. It’s my gift to you.
