Oh I flit between knitting and sewing: sewing has the advantage of speed and knitting has the advantage of portability ... and I love to do both!

I love to sew. I actually have more of a history with sewing than with knitting, and I often swing between being consumed by knitting and being consumed by a sewing project. Fiber of any kind is a lure for me. :-)

the wonderful thing about fabric is that even if you don't sew, you can find reasons to appreciate it and use it... curtains, table cloths, napkins, printer cover -- voila!

I went to Jo-Ann's to get supplies to make those little box bags to carry my knitting around in. Now I find myself hoarding fabric like I hoard yarn. It's a sickness...

Yes, I waver between knitting and sewing. I'm on a bit of a knitting kick at the moment. Re sewing, I like to repurpose stuff so I have a cupboard stuffed with clothes waiting to be turned into other stuff. I absolutely love yarn though - fabric doesn't do it for me in quite the same way.

Absolutely...I love fabric and have for longer than I have loved yarn. You've got one of my all time favs in your pile but i love the red colorway of Amy Butler's "wallflower" yum, yum

Oh yeah. I Love amy butler fabrics....but in a way knitting is easier day-to-day. No set-up required, and you can do it while watching TV or whatnot. Sewing requires a little more effort, but the results are quicker!!

Of course! Knitting is great because I am a mother of five and only have time for a row here and a row there, but the days when I can lug out the sewing machine and sew all day are the best! Quilting, baby clothes, doll clothes for my girls... I love that I can start and finish great things in one day!
