Pattern Preview: June's Favorite Cardigan

If you've been following along, you know I've been working on a design inspired by my grandmother's favorite cardigan.  She is almost exclusively a gift knitter, but has two of these cardigans in her own closet.  She's lost the pattern and can't remember any details about it - it's been 25 years or so since she purchased it.

After hearing her talk about how much she loved knitting it and how wearable it is, I set out to create a modern version.  Finally the knitting is complete (I don't have the knitting time I used to!) and the pattern will be available in a few short weeks.  I am in love with this cardigan.

June's Favorite Cardigan uses Quince & Co. Lark.  (psst...stay tuned for a special offer from Quince when the pattern releases!)

Blog Tour | Kelbourne Woolens: Volume 1

I am honored to be today's stop on the Kelbourne Woolens blog tour for they're new BOOK!

Kelbourne Woolens: Volume 1 celebrates the first five years of Kelbourne Woolens, featuring eleven popular patterns all using beautiful Fibre Company yarns.  Long time readers of mine know that I have had a love affair with Fibre Co. since the very beginning.  It started right here in Portland, Maine.  It's because of my association with founders Daphne and Iaian that I landed my first book deal, which then lead to my other successes in the industry.

I was excited to see that the book includes a modified version of a design from the original Fibre Co. design: the Hiker's Waistcoat.  As with others on this blog tour, I headed over to Polyvore and created a little ensemble around this piece.

The original pattern featured Pemaquid (oh how I loved that yarn!).  Courtney tweaked the pattern for Terra.  Now for the book the pattern has been written for Tundra, my new favorite yarn from Fibre Co.  It's featured here in the color Larch.

You can view the look book for Kelbourne Woolens: Volume 1 HERE.

AND, you can enter a giveaway for a copy of the book by leaving a comment below.  I'll draw a winner at random on Friday!

Congratulations to Kate and Courtney on a beautiful book.  We can't wait to see what you come with next.
