Nashoba Valley Knitting Guild

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Last Wednesday I went to visit my Aunt Lynn in Harvard, MA.

It is one of the cutest towns ever.  After spending the afternoon hanging out at her house and shopping at The Wool Pack, I attended her guild meeting.  I was able to present my book to knitters who had helped me with some of the pieces from Closely Knit.

I also got to meet Ellen, who started Ellie’s Reclaimed Cashmere.  She finds “abandoned” cashmere sweaters and recycles the yarn.  If you are in Portland, Anna carries it at Knitwit.  Ellen is sending me some to play with, I will write about it once it arrives!

I heart Article Pract.

I could spend a frightening amount of money in this shop.  Christina has fabulous taste in yarn!

Note Abe in the knit shop.  Even he couldn’t get over how super cool it was there.

The yarn tasting featured yarns from Closely Knit, especially The Fibre Company (of course!)

We used the yarn to knit the heart pin from Closely Knit.

Thanks, everyone.  Super fun!

Knit This, Purl That Book Signing

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

I drove over the Bay Bridge for the first time ever and made my way to Knit This, Purl That in Pleasanton.  Despite it being an exceptionally warm day, there was a great turn out.  Thanks to every one who came down!

Glenna had already marked all the patterns she wants to make, color coded by yarn she already has and yarn she needs to get.  I can’t wait to see some finished products!

Winter 2008 TNNA

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Closely Knit is here!  Well, the advance copies anyway.  It will be available to the public February 20th.  I just got back from California, where we released it at TNNA.  It was amazing, I can’t even begin to tell you all the positive feedback I received.  The best compliment of all came from Erika Knight, who gave the book a little squeeze as she said how much she loved the sentiment behind it.

The lace top from the Sisters chapter appeared in the fashion show on Thursday night.  It was unbelievable to be represented alongside so many other talented designers

Friday morning I spent time in the F & W booth, showing off Closely Knit.  It was great to be able to talk with everyone who stopped by.  It was genuinely well received!

Daphne and Iain’s booth looked fantastic, as usual.  They featured a few of the projects from Closely Knit in their booth - thanks guys!

Saturday we got to spend the day with Narumi Ogawa.  She is the cutest thing ever, and look at what she makes!

Note: I look like a freakish giant next to these two petite girls! Special thanks to my editor, Jessica Gordon, for making it such a fun weekend.
