Classic Designs for the Modern Knitter

We Wear Knitbot - Updated

It's the one year anniversary of our book Home & Away: Knits for Everyday Adventures! We're celebrating all the beautiful and wearable knits you've made since the release last spring. We want to see how you're wearing your finished knits, so we're having an Instagram #wewearknitbot fashion show!!  Join in, and have a chance to win one of six amazing prizes!!

Knit something from Home and Away. Don't have the book yet? There's still time! Buy it HERE with FREE domestic or discounted international shipping and you'll instantly receive the e-book download. You have until midnight, April 10 EST to post your finished knit!  Hannah will be casting on a Lesley Pullover for herself in hopes of finishing it by the end date.  We're celebrating Home & Away, but if you have knit another Hannah Fettig design you can also participate!

Post a photo to Instagram showing off an outfit you've styled around your knitted garment! In the description, include the tag #wewearknitbot. Also tag the yarn used, the local yarn shop or website the yarn was purchased from, and the other pieces in your outfit. Is this your first sweater? Let us know!

Here's an example entry:

Keep checking the #wewearknitbot hashtag on IG to watch the fashion show grow! Give each other some love!

Winners will be announced Tuesday, April 12th!  We'll announce them here and on Instagram that morning, and repost the winning outfits throughout that week on IG.  We are going to allow the entries we receive to dictate what the winning categories will be. If you would like some direction, we will say this: put together an outfit that reflects how YOU like to wear your knits - whether that be trendy, dressed up, dressed down, vintage, as part of a completely handmade outfit, the possibilities are endless!

Thanks to our lovely sponsors, we have a bunch of great prizes to award to our favorite outfits!!

In time for spring, a copy of Knitbot Linen plus a sweaters worth of Quince & Co Sparrow!  The book contains six unstructured knits designed and knit in Quince & Co. Sparrow.  This plain little yarn is beautiful in its simplicity. Its clean, smooth hand is crisp as you knit it. But after washing and wearing it becomes handkerchief soft. Spun from organic linen grown in Belgium.

Five 100g skeins of We Are Knitters The Petite Wool in this most perfect color for spring: mint!  Hannah is knitting herself a Lesley pullover in this yarn and color, check IG to see her progress throughout the month.

Hey, #wewearknitbot participants! Use coupon code LESLEYWAK and receive 15% off your We Are Knitters order!  We Are Knitters yarns are 100% Peruvian Wool, amazingly soft, all we can think when we hold a ball is: squish!

A CP Shades Light Blue Plaid Teton, 100% linen handmade top!  We are huge fans of this Northern California company.  They pride themselves on this 30 year tradition: They own their own sewing facility and continue to cut, sew and garment-dye in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Using 100% natural and sustainable fabrics, CP Shades makes simple and elegant clothing in lots of colors. Every garment is meant to be worn over and over again.

The Ropes bracelet from Bliss Boutiques!

Thanks to our sponsor Bliss Boutiques for contributing this beautiful Maine made product.  Bliss is one of our favorite places to shop, and they have been kind enough to contribute pieces for our photo shoots throughout the years.  Thanks, guys!

$50 gift certificate to A Verb for Keeping Warm!

A Verb for Keeping Warm incorporates founder Kristine Vejar's love for fiber, community, preservation of longstanding textile traditions, and desire to see others create a textile-centered art practice.

To do this, A Verb for Keeping Warm occupies a 1700 square foot space in Oakland, California that is comprised of a shop selling yarn, fiber, and fabric, two classrooms, two dye studios, and a natural dye garden.

To support the act of sewing garments, Kristine launched Seam Allowance - a group which meets monthly who have pledged to make at least 25% of their own clothing.

One bottle of Twig & Horn Wool Soap with lanolin!

Twig & Horn is a needle arts accessories company founded by Pam Allen of Quince & Co.  It all started with this wool wash!  She partnered with an American natural-soap maker to develop a premium gentle wool soap packed with USP-grade lanolin and other naturally moisturizing and gently cleansing ingredients.

A Wool & Wire Stitch Marker Pearl Bracelet!  We love the fashion and function of this unique jewelry available exclusively from Never Not Knitting.

Each luxury piece in the Wool & Wire Collection has been designed with knitters in mind to serve two purposes. The removable, decorative charms double as functional stitch markers for your knitting! You can create a whole new look every day by adding or subtracting different markers and always be prepared for a knitting emergency.

Thanks to Alana Dakos for contributing this prize.  We’re grateful to her for being the exclusive North American distributor of all Knitbot books and patterns! If you’re an LYS, be sure to get in touch with her.

A copy of Clara Parkes' new book, Knitlandia!
