Sunday Driving in Summer Scarf

whitefield.jpg I completed my summer scarf.    I cast on 350 sts with Nashua Handknits Ecological Cotton on a US 10 needle and knit in garter stitch  through 2 skeins.  Not rocket science I know, but it makes a perfectly good summer accessory. scarf.jpg

I also cast on for the Ravelympics Hana Jason's Gathered Pullover from Winter 2007 Interweave Knits using Garnstudio Alpaca.  This knits up so fast - it's sport weight knit on a US 7 needle.

Knit Gossamer Scarves for August

Abe just showed me this clip from the New York Times Fashion & Style Section.  Apparently women, and some men, are wearing gossamer scarves all over the city, alongside people in bikini tops and the like.  You can see lots of great photos if you follow the link. Last night I finished the yoke on my Nashua Top, leaving me with just the finishing to do.

It took only one skein, leaving me with this:

My challenge to myself is to whip up an August Scarf by the end of the week.  I will keep you posted.   If it turns into anything interesting, I will gladly share the pattern here.  But lets not get ahead of ourselves...
