Contented Cardi in Canopy Worsted

Another new sample arrived in time for TNNA, it's Contented Cardi in Canopy Worsted.

  The color is Blue Crown.

You may recall that on the original Contented the back cable was between the shoulder blades, like this:

I revised the pattern so now you can "choose your own adventure".  You have the option to keep the cable high between the shoulder blades or have it low at the waist.

If you'll be at TNNA, you can try on the Canopy worsted sample in the Kelbourne Woolens booth!

New Samples in Canopy Fingering!

In time for TNNA, I have 2 new samples in Canopy Fingering that I am oh so excited about.

Featherweight Cardigan in Obsidian.

Breezy Cardigan in River Dolphin.

Thanks to the awesome brother / sister sample knitting team of Deirdre and Peter Kennedy for getting these knit so quickly! And thanks to Carrie Hoge for the fun photo shoot this morning.

If you'll be at TNNA, stop by the Kelbourne Woolens booths, 344, 346 and 348 to see these samples in person.  They will also be part of my trunk show which hits the road following TNNA.  I'll have the schedule posted soon so you can find out when the show is at a yarn shop near you!

Yarn Eye Candy: Swans Island

A recent discovery of mine is a yarn company close to home, Swans Island of Northport, Maine.

Originally know as Swan Island Blankets, this company began making hand woven blankets in Swans Island, Maine.  They have grown over the years, and now offer a range of woven products.  Recently, under the direction of Michelle Orne, they started offering hand dyed yarns, dyed in their 1790's farm house.  All their yarn is 100% organic merino wool, and their dyes are 100% natural.

For my inspiration based project I eluded to in a previous post, I am working with Swans Island fingering weight yarn in the color indigo.

This 525 yards of fingering weight yarn is on it's way to becoming something...
