I wasn't sure if I had the skills to execute this bonnet by made by RAE. But I did! It's surprisingly easy. AND it's reversible!
Sewing: Big Butt Baby Pants
Before our baby arrived, I went on a fabric shopping spree and got to work on a few things for baby, toddler and home. First up, Big Butt Baby Pants by made by RAE. I was introduced to her sewing patterns by Kate who had sewn a few of Rae's patterns for her daughter. They are awesome for us super spontaneous types, the patterns are an instant PDF download. They are simple to work, very clearly explained, and a great fit.
These pants are specially designed with cloth diaper wearing babies and toddlers in mind. The fit is perfect! I made 3 pair for my son in one evening.
I made the largest size for my 2 year old son, the pattern includes sizes 0-3 months / 3-6 months / 6-12 months / 12-18 months / 18-24 months / 2T. The fabric is from the Commute collection by Birch Organic Fabrics, some of my favorite fabrics.
I'll be sharing more sewing throughout the week, check back!
Walpole
When Jared Flood approached me about creating a design for Wool People 3 I had to stop and think. I was relatively close to having a baby and had told myself no more designing was allowed. Once I saw his inspiration boards, well, Walpole came to mind...how could I not make it happen? A few weeks after Mabel was born, it was exciting to see my design beautifully presented by Mr. Flood.
