Zip Up Cardigan

My Zip Up Cardigan pattern has always included children's sizes, though the adult version has been the cover shot so knitters might not realize it.  I've been working on so many things for Mabel,  I've wanted to include Jonah somehow.  But I'm so limited on time these days!  So I had Deirde's brother Peter knit me the smallest size of Zip Up.  And now that it's here, well I'm not sure how excited Jonah is.  Bribery was necessary to get him to put the sweater on so I could at least grab a few photos!

Peter did a beautiful job knitting this sample using 3 skeins of Quince & Co. Osprey in Delft. And I did (ahem) a pretty good job installing the zipper. I'll admit, it's no small task. I used this tutorial and it is absolutely the best way, though you may sigh at the number of steps.  Another option, as this knitter on Ravelry did: take it to a tailor and have them install the zipper.  No shame in that!

New Pattern: Baby Frock

A few weeks before Mabel arrived, I was inspired to knit her something using only one skein of The Fibre Company's beautiful new bulky weight yarn Tundra.

The first version, shown in Glacier in yesterdays teaser, was a bit too triangular.  The final version, shown above in Snowdrift, is  still A-line but has fewer decreases.  This top is worked from the bottom up in one piece and only requires 120 - 240 yards of bulky weight yarn!  Make one!
