Schoodic Cardigan is a collaboration between myself and Kelbourne Woolens.  It features their beautiful new yarn, Acadia.  Schoodic Point is one of my favorite spots in Acadia National Park, and so I thought it was appropriate to name this Acadia cardigan after it!

The body and sleeves of Schoodic are knit from the bottom up, then joined at the armholes for the raglan yoke shaping. The cabled collar is worked at the same time as the body, making this a seamless cardigan!  (Full disclosure: you do have to join the ends of the collar at the back of the neck, so one little seam.)

In my opinion, Acadia is the perfect yarn for this cardigan.  It provides the comfort that is oh so important to me in my hand knit sweaters. Surprise!  I knit this at the recommended gauge and it is still very lightweight.  Acadia creates beautifully soft cables which in the case of this design frame the the fronts of the cardigan.  I'm excited to share this design with you knitters this weekend!

Knitbot and Quince and Co!

A few weeks back in the middle of our only blizzard of the season, I ventured out to Black Point Inn with Quince and Company to photograph the pieces for a collaborative project we've had in the works.

Our model, Abigail, was such a trooper, as it's off season for the Inn there was no heat. In between takes we tried to warm her up as best we could!
