Soule Mama Books & Sock Yarn Sweater Progress

On Friday night I stopped by Longfellow Books to pick up Amanda Soule's newest book, Handmade Home: Simple Ways to Repurpose Old Materials into New Family Treasures.  I ended up also getting her first book, The Creative Family: How to Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections. soule.jpg

As a mom-to-be, I have found these books to be so inspiring.  I appreciate Amanda's philosophy on building a home environment that encourages creativity, and there are so many sweet project ideas!

At the event, I saw something interesting...

... a real live Whisper Cardigan!  This is the first time I've seen one in person, and Brandie Mayes was so well executed, in a lovely shade of Malabrigo Lace.  Nice work, Brandie!

Last night I knit one of the sleeves for my Malabrigo Sock Yarn Sweater.  It has been H-O-T here, which I am blaming for the slow progress on this wee sweater.  But one sleeve to go, people!  Maybe tonight...
