In the past few days, I have received some beautiful yarn in the mail.
As those of you close to me know, I am not usually a fan of hand dyed yarn. However, these yarns by Gail Callahan, otherwise known as the Kangaroo Dyer, quickly won me over. Go to her etsy shop to purchase some of your very own. The first skein is Wheat Fields, the second is Sage. Gail has a book coming out, Hand Dyeing Yarn and Fleece: Custom-Color Your Favorite Fibers with Dip-Dyeing, Hand-Painting, Tie-Dyeing, and Other Creative Techniques, look for it in January.
A most exciting skein arrived yesterday from the sweet folks at madeline tosh.
This is prairie, and I can't stop looking at it. It is 840 yards of lace weight superwash merino wool, so soft, and the color varigation so beautiful. I can't wait to swatch it, but at the same time I want it to stay just like this for a while.
Lastly, I purchased this Road to China Light last week to make my boy a hoodie from Vintage Baby Knits.
I am loving every second of working with it.
One of these days I might disappear for awhile. If I do, it means Jonah has been born! I promise to resurface as soon as possible....
