I kicked off 2011 by sponsoring the Never Not Knitting Podcast! You can listen here. Alana talks about some of my designs and I read a knitting story. Also, I sent her all kinds of knitbot loot for a giveaway, you can enter here. Many that I follow on-line are making their knitting goals for 2011, and I must admit it's infectious.
What are my goals?!
Well, I really enjoyed working on my three piece Jackets collection, all using one yarn, Osprey, so I plan to design two more 3 piece collections, one to release in April, one to release in September.
For the first I've been swatching with The Fibre Company Savannah, and I like the direction it's been taking me. So for April you can look for three designs in Savannah!
I still love Malabrigo Lace, and have some ideas floating around about that.
Okay, now let's talk about some fun knitting. Aimee sent me this link about her goal of 12 sweaters in 12 months, of which Effortless is one. I love all her choices! And here is another Aimee, working on 52 hats in 52 weeks. There are some designs out there that I would LOVE to knit, and I love the idea of creating some structure as these ladies have done so that I actually get them done. Here's what happens. I'm impulsive, so who's to say for sure what I'll want to work on when. And, here's the biggest one, there are CONSTANTLY new patterns coming out, which makes it difficult to commit too far advance to certain projects. That said, here are a few things I am very interested in knitting this year:
Harvest Moon, by PiPiBird
Roo, by Kate Gilbert
Mystic Pullover, by Melissa Labarre
Serafina Cowl, by Carrie Bostick Hoge
Castiel, by WoollyWormhead
And a few projects in my knitting basket that are halfway complete that I LOVE and definitely want to complete:
Aidez, by Cirilia Rose
Goodale, by Cecily Glowick MacDonald
Well, that should get me started anyway!
What are your knitting goals for 2011?
