Hello 2011!

I kicked off 2011 by sponsoring the Never Not Knitting Podcast!  You can listen here.  Alana talks about some of my designs and I read a knitting story.  Also, I sent her all kinds of knitbot loot for a giveaway, you can enter here. Many that I follow on-line are making their knitting goals for 2011, and I must admit it's infectious.

What are my goals?!

Well,  I really enjoyed working on my three piece Jackets collection, all using one yarn, Osprey, so I plan to design two more 3 piece collections, one to release in April, one to release in September.

For the first I've been swatching with The Fibre Company Savannah, and I like the direction it's been taking me.  So for April you can look for three designs in Savannah!

I still love Malabrigo Lace, and have some ideas floating around about that.

Okay, now let's talk about some fun knitting.  Aimee sent me this link about her goal of 12 sweaters in 12 months, of which Effortless is one.  I love all her choices!  And here is another Aimee, working on 52 hats in 52 weeks.  There are some designs out there that I would LOVE to knit, and I love the idea of creating some structure as these ladies have done so that I actually get them done.  Here's what happens.  I'm impulsive, so who's to say for sure what I'll want to work on when.  And, here's the biggest one, there are CONSTANTLY new patterns coming out, which makes it difficult to commit too far advance to certain projects.  That said, here are a few things I am very interested in knitting this year:

And a few projects in my knitting basket that are halfway complete that I LOVE and definitely want to complete:

Well, that should get me started anyway!

What are your knitting goals for 2011?

Goodbye 2010!

As 2010 comes to a close, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank a few people. Thanks...

- to my technical editors, Tana Pageler and Amy Polcyn

- to Quince & Co., Kelbourne Woolens, Classic Elite Yarns, Madelinetosh and Malabrigo for supplying yarn for designs over the past year

- to Lisa Shoyer and Knitscene for the flattering article in their fall 2010 issue.

- to my loyal sample knitters, Deirdre Kennedy and Andrea Sanchez.

- to Alana Dakos and Carrie Bostick Hoge for their continued support and feedback

- to Abe, my ever supportive husband

A lot has changed for me over the past year, my baby boy being a year old now.  I want to especially thank all of you, fans of knitbot, for making it possible for me to do what I do for work.  I treasure the privilege more than ever, and it wouldn't be possible without your continued support!

Wishing you all the best,

me

Hannah
