Abe and I have had a house under contract. We hit a point two weeks ago where we were simply waiting to close. Knowing this was the calm before the storm, I applied myself to some serious knitting, all hours of the day and night.
Here I am knitting on the men's earflap hat at midnight.
Prior to the closing, I finished the sisters scarf, which is waiting for a single crochet edge to help it lay flat. Look how long!
I also started the sisters skirt, which will be A line with this cute little layer on the bottom. There will be Petersham peeking out from the two layers once it is finished.
I was looking for some instant gratification, so I whipped this hat up in a few hours using Pemaquid by Fibre Co. It's funny, I started by going through patterns to find a hat pattern to mindlessly knit, and I found I couldn't commit to any of them. I ended up making it up as I went along. Is this whole book project going to change my knitting world as I know it for good?!
On Thursday we closed on our house. WOW! So as you can see, I now have a bigger project to work on. I spent the past few days stripping wallpaper, while Abe lifted four layers of linoleum of the kitchen floor to find hardwood.
BUT, when I get home at night, knitting still calls my name.
I started the Burly Spun blanket. I'm knitting it on size 15 needles, so it's a nice change of pace.
AND, I was able to get 4 new projects out to my guild knitters (THANK YOU THANK YOU!) so I look forward to seeing the progress on these as the weeks go by.
Enough writing, I'm going to do some knitting!
Here is the bird who will sit atop the wee nest. His body needs some help, but I'm happy with his little head.
