Introducing Knitbot Essentials!

Back in October, I talked to Pam Allen about moving my office to her Quince & Company warehouse, only a mile from my house.  Working at home had been great up until this point, but I was itching for a change of scenery after the release of Coastal Knits.  Once I was in the building, we inevitably started talking ideas for collaboration.  I'm excited to announce our project to you today! Knitters, meet Knitbot Essentials.

Knitbot Essentials will be available both as an e-book and in print in just a few weeks! More details on where and when you can purchase your own copy will come very soon.

The book includes: - A foreward by Pam Allen.

- A lesson in drape.  My most popular designs involve knitting lace or fingering weight yarn at a loose gauge. I tell you the history behind my love affair with this knit fabric.  I also provide tips on how to achieve perfect drape in your finished Knitbot garments.

- Nine meticulously edited patterns. Garment patterns are available in a wide range of sizes and include detailed schematics. A brief history is provided for each design.

- A techniques section includes photos and instructions for techniques commonly used in my patterns.

Pam will be blogging on the Quince and Company blog over the next few weeks with more teaser photos, be sure to check them out here!

I'll be back myself with more details this week...

Yoked Cardigan's Number One Fans

...all apparently live in Petaluma, California, home to the yarn shop Knitterly. Shelli has been ordering my Yoked Cardigan pattern for her shop in such large quantities, recently I had to ask her, 'What are you doing with all these patterns?'  My guess was kindling.

But no!  In fact she is selling them, and this is why:

Do you see that clothes line full of Yoked Cardigans?!  Instead of swatches, Yoked showcases many of the yarns for sale in her shop.  Brilliant, Shelli.  Brilliant.

I have to say I love this yarn. It's so beautiful.  Yes it has merino wool and alpaca along with silk, but it's not overly warm! I wore it the other night to a show in Boston and never felt overheated. It was so comfortable, perhaps the most comfortable knit sample I've ever worn. A bold statement, but yes it's true!

Leave a comment below to be entered in this giveaway for Schoodic and Acadia. I'll choose a winner at random Monday, March 5!
