Yoked Cardigan's Number One Fans

...all apparently live in Petaluma, California, home to the yarn shop Knitterly. Shelli has been ordering my Yoked Cardigan pattern for her shop in such large quantities, recently I had to ask her, 'What are you doing with all these patterns?'  My guess was kindling.

But no!  In fact she is selling them, and this is why:

Do you see that clothes line full of Yoked Cardigans?!  Instead of swatches, Yoked showcases many of the yarns for sale in her shop.  Brilliant, Shelli.  Brilliant.

I have to say I love this yarn. It's so beautiful.  Yes it has merino wool and alpaca along with silk, but it's not overly warm! I wore it the other night to a show in Boston and never felt overheated. It was so comfortable, perhaps the most comfortable knit sample I've ever worn. A bold statement, but yes it's true!

Leave a comment below to be entered in this giveaway for Schoodic and Acadia. I'll choose a winner at random Monday, March 5!

Rocky Coast Cardigan Adjustment

Based on knitters feedback, it seemed Rocky Coast Cardigan could use a little more room in the yoke and upper arm circumference. I set out to knit one for myself.  (It took a few months rather than the few weeks I had originally hoped it would take me.) I decided to knit the 43" for myself which would give me about 7" of positive ease...when I'm not pregnant.  Indeed once I completed the yoke I realized to achieve a proper fit I'd need to lengthen the yoke a bit and add about 2" of circumference to the sleeves.

After talking it over with my technical editor, I decided to work one more cable repeat to add length to the yoke, at the same time working increases on the sleeves only.  Having finally finished the cardigan, it fits great with this small adjustment!

Carrie snapped these photographs of me wearing it today:

If you're interested in making this adjustment to your own Rocky Coast Cardigan, official instructions that apply to all sizes are here.
